A kind, grandfatherly man with a slight paunch and a graying beard. A wealthy Karrnathi merchant, he was a General in the war 30 years ago, when the Emerald Claw was discovered to be a terrorist group, he renounced his earlier ties to them and retired his military commission. He walks with a slight limp, but his boisterous laugh more than makes up for his lack of physical ability. He hired the party to rescue his adoptive daughter, Jennica, after she was kidnapped. Extremely grateful for her safe return, Malthus has offered the party his aid and hospitality should they find themselves in Karrlakton.
